ATL Tinker Fest

MAPS TINKER FEST

"Technology is best when it brings people together."

These words by Matt Mullenweg, a Social Media Entrepreneur truly resonate with the purpose of marriage of humanity with technology. With the aim of encouraging students to use Atal Tinkering Labs for innovative thinking, learning to make product prototypes and developing problem solving and entrepreneurial skills Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Ashok Vihar celebrated two day ATL Tinker fest on 26.7.19 & 27.7.19.

On the first day the event was initiated with the blessings of school principal Mrs Punam Gupta and vice principal Mrs Alka Sahani; both of them not only wished students for their great efforts but also tweaked their curiosity with questions on varying topics related to Artificial intelligence and space mission Chandrayan 2. This perfectly set the stage for the proceedings of the day. This was followed with young Student Change makers displaying their wonderful and innovative products created by them through the summer break. These path breaking ideas included robots which are able to play different games such as cricket and football, automation of various instruments, radars, drones etc. Later in the day a 2 day workshop was organized for all the students based on Arduino and Introduction of Input Output Devices with Motor and Drivers.  The workshop included brief introduction about arduino and other related components and how they can be used for automation of various parts of homes. Students worked on IOT as well and created some projects as the session progressed using lab equipments and computers. As the workshop concluded for the day with a hands on experience students were left with a task to be completed by them till the beginning of the workshop the following day.

The second day began with continuation of the workshop with students displaying the task from the previous day. Nearby non- ATL SKV also attended the event and the students were given a chance to perform hands on with LED lights.  The students were trained by resource person; while the host school provided the material for activities. Host school students happily helped the guests to understand the components and successfully complete the hands on activities. The day concluded with students from both schools bonding over some refreshments and exchanging ideas about AI followed with a thank you message from ATL In-Charge Mrs Ritu Gupta and ATL Coordinator Mrs Ruchika Goyale.
